About
Born and raised in Montclair, New Jersey, Brielle Wallace is a self-taught artist whose whimsical work captures both the everyday and the ethereal. Wallace’s paintings reflect intellect and empathy, translating memories and creative vision through the eyes of a dreamer. Through rich layers of oil or acrylic paint, Wallace exacts sumptuous landscapes and portraits infused with surrealist fantasy. Vivid colors partner with evocative, organic forms, to express the beauty and depth of human imagination, imperfection, and emotion. Wallace studies landscape painting at The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey and is currently building her debut collection.
Mission
“I paint for people to have their own experience. I believe in painting as a radically freeing and healing art form for both the artist and the viewer. My mission is to allow anyone who views my work to have an unlimited imagination.” -Sunshine
Vision
The name “Imagination By Sunshine” is inspired by Brielle’s childhood nickname, “Sunshine,” lovingly given to her by her parents. The word “imagination” reflects a deep passion for encouraging people to reconnect with the creativity within themselves—moving away from the constant cycle of mindlessly consuming digital entertainment.
Growing up, my world was filled with imaginative play and endless creativity. I spent my days making movies, magazines, music videos, murals, and more. Looking back, creating wasn’t just a pastime—it was a way of life, a source of connection with my siblings and cousins, and a wellspring of pure joy.
Through my artwork, I strive to share that same innocence and joy, inspiring others to rediscover the magic of their own imaginations.
